Is there anyway i can add these files to a (dvd) menu (to select them from via my dvd player) and then burn? I have nero 6, alcohol 120% and record now max!
First, we need to know what files your (several) video are in i.e. MPEG, AVI (XVID/DIVX)? Secondly, I would recommend you to get the 2.4X Verbatim DVD+R DL (Made In Singapore) blank instead of the one you're going to get, which is Traxadata. I have never heard of Traxdata before, thus, I can't comment that it's good or bad. However, I've had backed up roughly 30 Verbatim DVD+R DL and they're all flawlessly.
If the files you're going to burn is in AVI files, then you need to convert them to DVD files by using DivXtoDVD - once, you're done with that process then just have Nero Burning Rom back it up (if all your video files is still under 4.4gb). However, if the files you're going to back up is more than 4.5 - 6.5gb, then you'll need to have either DVD Shrink or Nero Recode 2 to encode/compress your files so it'll fit perfectly into one single layer DVD+R/-R blank.

My advice is to stay away from dual layer discs for the time being. They are way too expensive - usually abound 3 or 4 dollars each. And rewritables are not available. That means that if you mess one up, you have a very expensive coaster.
I think everyone should work with rewritables at first, until you have mastered the intricacies of your burning and compression software. You can't do that with DL discs right now. I'm not sure when DL rewritables will become available. Does anyone know?
If you want uncompressed backups of long films, you're better off just splitting them onto two discs. DVD Shrink does this very efficiently and well. You can split at any point in the film.
