I've noticed everyone saying ritek is best for ps2 backups. But my question is Are those dvd plus or minus?
Up until a month ago, I was using the old verbatim dvd-r datalife plus 94077. Well I finally ran out. And now I have tried the new verbatims, the maxells, and fujifilm. I am trying to back up grand theft auto san andreas and need for speed 2 and they aren't very good. I have a version 6 with a plug and play chip and I use a gameshark.
Will the ritek dvd-r work for me or is there another type of media that will work best for my needs.
I guess if all else fails, I will be buying the old verbatims that work for me online for 4.00 each plus shipping.
thanks for the replies. I only have a -r burner anyway. Was just curious what was best now. As I said earlier though, I have tried fujifilm. But I will try again just in case I burned to fast. Will also try the tdk and or phillips. I will let you know.
$4? You don't mean PER DISC do you? That would just be insane... anyways top rated media are Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim Datalife PLUS, Ritek G03. I usually just pick up the 4x silver lacquered:
from reading the results of other posters, verbatim,ritek & Fuji are the best I started with Fuji and never had a bad disk. The media I have heard with most problems is TDK. I bought CD's from TDK and they were horrible but I got a free 25 pak and so far all of them work like a charm just make sure you down load slowly.
ya those verbatim that worked great for me are now 3.99 a piece online. I tried the fujifilm DVD-R at 1x and I have the same problem with the need for speed 2 underground. If I get on the highway and just drive as fast as I can, about every 60 seconds or so the disk pauses and says loading but then continues. I guess my next try will be ritek. I will keep you posted.
are the 94971 verbatim what you are using. Like I said earlier the 94077 was my only luck. I don't think that I mentioned that I bought a 50 pack of verbatim #? but the disk says zd1551-dvr-i47a. And nothing worked with these not even backed up movies. well they worked but they sure jumped around alot. It seems like alot of people are saying that the disks should have the metal azo recording dye. Do the riteks? Anyway, I will give the 94971's a try too.
