so im wondering as i see on the bottom of my verbatim lightscribe dvds that its fine scratches...........does the ps2 do this crap?
is it better to play ur dvds on a real dvd player, or was someone in my house just frigggin careless with the ones ive tried to backup lately?

PS2 normally does not do that, check your PS2 games for validation, over use and carelessness will do that unfortunately.
PS. U might wanna put this in the PS2 forum.

i looked on most of my ps2 games and they are fine, and the burnt one(the one ive tried to backup will play fine, but minor scratches i assume from the ps2)
anyhow shrink wont encode it all the way
gets to a certain point and stops :(

lmac222,
From the title of the thread I take it you are trying to burn a copy. If that is what you are doing use DVDDecrypter in .iso mode> read the .iso mode > write. Shrink will try and encode the movie again. You might want to d/l DVDinfoPro (free ) and do a CRC test on the burned copy to see if there are any errors on it before you copy it

im sorry i typed wrong
it will first decrypt(sometimes all the way)
when it does shrink does it normally
then back to decrypeer for the burn and it will just stall out there
or the previous use of decrypter

i used decrypter and shrink like those guides say
heres what ive done
burned the original disk and my backup plays fine on my ps2
then on a FEW of my burned dvds ive noticed some minor scratches
so i go to this process again to burn a copy of my burns........sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt
normally if it gets thru with the DVD Decrypters first step the iso read part, it will burn correctly, but somtimes it gets stuck midread

lmac222,,
The only way to use only DVDDecrypter is to use a d/l disk and burn the DVD in Mode>.iso read > then mode>iso write. I do it all of the time when I have extra $$ for the d/l dvd's and w/ 2 kids in college it gets a tad expensive

The only way to put a movie on DVD5 w/ no compression is if the movie is under 4.35 gb . If it is then you can use DVDDecrypter w/o using Shrink
