Seriously, I have no idea. Probably it's because I've never heard of Silver-Tek before, this is the only second time that I've seen/heard of the name Silver-Tek mentioned other than that long thread that talks about Taiyo Yuden media. In addition, I've never seen the inner hub id:T1017 before as well.
Hopefully, Kivory666 can verify that this is indeed a genuine Taiyo Yuden media from his source through his Taiyo representative. Other than that, it possibly can be a "fake/clone" of Taiyo Yuden.

hehe, i was in that thread quite a bit~ yes, THESE ARE 100% DEFINITELY FAKE TAIYO YUDENS...do NOT buy them if you expect to receive genuine TYs, these are MOST DEFINITELY NOT~!!!
there was a heated and long discussion in that other thread that akyllonen linked you to, i haven't tried them, but i can assure you 100% that they are FAKE Taiyo Yudens...which in my past experience with my OWN FAKE TYs...and substandard in quality and are very poor media to burn to...

I ordered a couple of the "free samples" from Silvertek. Hoping I receive them so I can test an post the results. Guessing they either will not send, or ship me real samples hoping to bait and switch w/the T1017's. Will post results when and if I get them.

if they send you authentic ones, i would be VERY weary of placing a future order with them..LOL...bait & switch is THE KEY WORDS here. :)
the fact that the supposed owner of SilverTek called me a liar, well, what do you expect him to say when he KNOWS that what he sells is fake and when i verify the discs after a member on AD asks me to, they are FAKES. :) he's just trying to make a sale, that's human nature for ya~ point the finger @ someone else to take the fall for your own mistake.

Not going to order any under ANY circumstance from SilverTek. Just want to run Disc Quality Tests to show how bad the T1017's are....
Hopefully TY America will have their legal team look at the seller of these and get them off eBay....

i have already reported the seller from ebay to my representative @ TY north america...it has been filed already at the time that i posted here on AD in the other FAKE TY thread~ :)
despite what they will actually do against the seller or whatnot, that is not my concern, but the least i can do is try to inform members here what is GENUINE and what is FAKE in the world of Taiyo Yuden~ can't make everyone happy, but, knowledge is power~ the more informed we are, the less likely we are in getting FAKES. good day to you all~

There is nothing wrong with trying to sniff out a good deal, BUT, I will tell you (and many here will probably attest to it as well):
For the best price for Genuine Taiyo Yuden shop Rima and Supermediastore.... Exception is the Best Buy Fuji sale, and MIJ is getting harder to find these days. I use inkjet printable TY's almost exclusively, so Rima is my usual vendor... They have had better pricing/shipping rates on these than Supermediastore so far...
eBay is good for a lot of things, but it's track record with Taiyo Yuden media is HORRENDOUS!!! If enough buyers/sellers address this issue with eBay, maybe they will be more strict on the sellers of this media. Remember, "A closed mouth will not get fed," or something like that... Otherwise, eBay will just collect their fees and be content!!!

hrtbeat2: DO NOT buy any DVD dics from eBay. Cant verify the authenticity and cant return them if some wrong. then, if you leave a - feedback cuz of fake dics, they will do the same to u. that will ruin your rating. STAY AWAY FROM THOSE.

Supermediastore is the only online store I've used and have had no problems. Products arrived OK and no long delays. Haven't used any of the other stores but don't buy media off e-bay.
