Took some movies to a friends house and played them on a ps2. The movie seemed to freeze up and a couple of times stopped playing altogether.
I currently use dvd shrink and burn with dvd decrypter, is it better to burn like that or to use shrink with nero?
It is a possibility that the ps2 is just dirty, but I was wondering if there is any difference in the quality of the burns of each method.
Thanks

Uasly it is not the burrning software Decryptor or nero burn good. The quility of burns are mostly bassed on quility of media and slow burrning no more then 4X any faster can cause read errors.
Also PS2 are picky about what Blank media it will read. All you can do is test diffrent media and find ones that work best on your PS2. They all differ.

The PS2 loves Verbatim but will never play Moser Baer India. Write at 4x to avoid problems.

Thanks for your replies,
I am burning at 2.4x using Sony (Made in Japan, TY discs). Lite On burner with booktype set to dvd-rom.
So is there no preference on which burning utility to use?

I am going from memory, but I am pretty sure that the id code was: Yuden000-T02-000.
From what you guys have said, I am guessing my friends ps2 just needs to be cleaned.

The latest firmware was installed about 1 1/2 weeks ago.
On an unrelated topic, is installing a chip in the ps2 still required to play burned ps2 games?

related to the other question which you was told you had to have a modchip to play games. that is wrong.
You do not have to install a modchip to play backup games. you can get a flip top or a slide tool and use swap magic to boot backups.
