You actually just need a DVD burner. Use it to read and write DVD's. DVD-ROM are optional to read the DVD.

The easiest method would be to rip the DVD on to your hard drive and work off your hard drive rather than the disc.

You say DVD Decrypter takes to long, have you checked your DMA ?

Another viable option is to use DVDFab Decrypter (you would use it just like DVD Decrypter) first, then open the files with DVD Shrink.

DVDFab Decrypter can be downloaded here: DVDIdle.com/free.htm" class="korostus" target="_blank">http://www.DVDIdle.com/free.htm

I don't use AnyDVD, never will. So I can't really answer question pertaining to it.

You do not need two drives, all you need is your burner. You can use AnyDVD and then just open Shrink, and encode your movie as usual. When it is done your burning program will ask for a disk and just put the disk in and burn.

Just a side note, if you do get "AnyDVD". Never run it and DVD Decrypter together. Always shutdown "AnyDVD" before you run DVD Decrypter. :)

Nope! Actually having DVD43 or AnyDVD running at the same time as DVD Decrypter, could possibly cause DVD Decrypter to malfunction and the rip will fail cause they are running.

There is not a region 1 DVD that DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 cannot rip.

Depending on your drive and your firmware, it can be as low as 6 to 8 min.

With me, I have a NEC 3520A Firmware 2.U1. I can rip a DVD-9 (Dual Layer) DVD in 14 to 17 min.

DVD Shrink will also work faster with your hard drive, than working from the disc in a drive.

You can use AnyDVD with DVD Decrypter, you just change your interface in Decrypter to the Elby CDIO, that comes with CloneDVD. There is no problem when using it this way.

I use AnyDVD with Decrypter and have no problems. According to Olli who developed CloneDVD and posts at CDFreaks. He just states to change the interface in Decrypter from SPTI to the Elby CDIO which I have done, don't know what difference it really makes but it works well. You will have the Elby if you have Clone on your computer, and even if you dl and the trial runs out the Elby CDIO still remains and can be used. When you change it and then open Decrypter you will see it load up on the screen.

Go into Decrypter then Tools, Settings, and I/O hit okay and you will see the Elby CDIO just check it and go back it should load up in Decrypter. Try it out if you have any problems then just go back to SPTI
