While trying to download DVS Shrink from this website i keep getting (http error 403 - forbidden inter net explorer)in a box saying that I have no permission to access this page. Is this something that has receintly been built into windows xp pro? I already have DVD shrink but have recently found trouble burning some DVD's and was wondering if anyone elce has been having the same problem. This is why I wanted to reinstall DVD shrink.

Thanks for anyone's help.

The official website of DVD Shrink ( http://www.dvdshrink.org/ ) is no longer up.

What problems or troubles have you been having that makes you want to uninstall and reinstall?

Are you using DVD Decrypter to rip to your hard drive first before using Shrink?

InCD is known to cause conflicts if you are not using the program then remove it using the Nero InCD Gerneral Clean Tool, if you are then make sure you have it disabled in your start up.

1.Uninstall INCD ( add/ remove program and use "modify" to uninstall Nero Nero ) or use the clean tools (all of them) to uninstall Nero and then re-install Nero after re-booting 2X
2. Burning to close to the outer rim. Set target size to custom-4300
3. It does not recog the balnk media you are using. You might update you burner's firmware
4. Update Nero you are a version behind

arniebear,
You are one smooth and quick typist and fast but they say great minds think alike. LOL

Blew
Are you still getting the IE problem. You might try and lower the IE internet setting under security. Lower them to medium. It is at least the only thing I can think of that would give you that error

Not sure if you know how to reset the target DVD size, but here is how:

Open DVD Shrink. Click "Edit", then "Preferences". On the first tab at the top in the drop down box, change it from "DVD-5 (4.7GB) to "Custom" and enter a number of 4200MB (4464MB is burning to the edge of the disc, you want to stay away from the edge as the edge of cheap media (disc's) are poorly manufactured). Screen Shot Below:

I'm still getting the IE message when I try to download from certain websites even when I turn off my firewall and disable my nortons so I can't quite figure it out. I'm using the same firewall (zonealarm pro) on both my desk and laptops but I'm only having trouble with my laptop.

I've done all of the upgrades to my laptop as suggested by 'arniebear' and thanks to 'jmet' was able to reset my target size. Arniebear we're not all computer geeks...jmet note led me by the hand..............anyway, thanks to you all I'm now burning again..........(YEAH!!!!!) :{).

Thanks again youall,
