How Fast Is my FTP Susposed to go

Im Only going about 400 kbps. I thought it was susposed to go 11,000 so tahts a pretty big difference. Am I getting normal FTP Speeds from my xbox to my computer? Im a noob if you didnt notice and i searched for speed and got nothing importnat. Please help.

Can you explain more about your setup? Is it a direct connection? Are you using a router? What FTP Client are you using? Were your speeds at one time around 11,000kb/s or has 400kb/s always been your transfer speed?
The more we know, the more can help :)

Its through the router. Im using a linksys router (something like wrtg54 or somehting close to that.) Im using FlashFXP. Ive also tried a bunch of others including smart ftp, cuteftp, as well as amny more. I used to have 80 but now its around 400. I just want it to go faster. I was unable to hook it up directly to my computer because it didnt work that way. Even if i used to correct settings it didnt so i had to go through my router. Thats for responding uniique1

Yeah, if you didn't have a crossover cable to do the direct connection, it won't work.
As for the ruter and the slow transfer speeds, it may be a setting within you xbox's Netowrk Settings.
One problem I've noticed with FTP transfer settings is the allowance of the boostmode within the xbox.
In a Avalaunch dashboard this can be edited by navigating to Network> FTP Settings> then put the settings for the following...
Use nonboost FTP Server: Disabled
FTP Port: 21
FTP Server: Enabled
Allow Boostmode: Enabled
In EvoX navigate to the following...
System Managemment> System Settings>
Scroll down to the FTP category and select Yes to enable FTP
Whichever dash you're using, make sure that DHCP is enabled since you're using a router. No it doesn't have to be DHCP for it to work but since you're having issues, it's the easiest method to choose for the FTP process since all IP settings wouldbe automatic.

yea i was using a crossover cable for the direct connection and it still never worked. Im using the same crossover cable to hook up to my router. I got it from best buy. Its a geek squad model crossover cable. Maybe you can help me with the direct connection? Anyway, I have all the settings you said uniique1. But its still at 400. Reply back. Hopefully ill catch you on msn.

Are you sure you have a crossover cable? A crossover cable is required for a direct connection. All you need for a connection to a router or a hub is a patch cable. If you are using a crossover cable to your router, that probably explains the slow speeds.

Maybe but I've never heard of that causing problems. Usually if you have a crossover cable it just means dual capabilities in the scenario of hooking up your via direct connection or thru your router. Give a try though. Use a regular CAT5 cable and see if the speeds change.

For the other users that may venture in this thread with the same or similar issues:
What it all boiled down to was flyinonic did not have a network setup with his PC and he was trying to transfer files over a wireless network (low speeds).
FIX: He setup a network on his PC. Plugged his modem into his router. A LAN conection out from his router to his PC and another out from the router to his xbox and was able to transfer files to and from his xbox across his network at decent speeds.
