Can some one tell me the Difference Between Region Zone and Area.
A Friend has six Kids so a Backup is a Must,
But He has come across the Region Area which does not seem to want to Back Up.
Can any one explain the Difference and How to get around it.

There should not bee any diffrences it too me is the same thing just use DVD Decrypter to get rid of the Area or Regional coding soo it becomes free of all that and easier to backup :) dont forget to compress with DVD Shrink or u can even use CloneDVD 2 but thats not free like Shrink.

Thanks for that borhan9.
When I used the DVD Decrypter it saved the Back Up as a WinRAR Archive.Called Most_Wanted_4x3.
When Opened 3 Folders appeared an Audio Folder, Named Audio_TS (With Nothing in it) and a Video Folder,Named Video_TS.
The Video Folder looks like the Normal DVD Shrink Back Up.
And a Icon with the Movie Name,Most_Wanted_4x3.
Which is a 5k MDS File. When Clicked goes to the DVD Decrypter.
Is the above Normal.
Do I use DVD Shrink on the Video File Only.

@stogie00

What program are u using to backup on disc???

I would use CloneDVD 2 or use DVD Decrypter in ISO Mode to ripp to disc here are the guides for each program...

1)DVD Decrypter
http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/small_dvd_2_dvdr.cfm

2)DVD Shrink
http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvd9_to_dvdr_with_dvd_shr...

3)CloneDVD 2
http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/full_dvd_to_dvdr_with_clo...

or see Scuba Petes guide in my sig....

I hope that helps...

p.s

In regards to +-R i use +R and havent had a problem yet... But they say here in most of the forums that -R works in most all players...

So if i was u i would use both and c what gives me the best result...

In addition to borhan9's advice and questions what brand of blank discs are you using. Poor quality discs can cause burning problems. You should also make sure the firmware for your drive is up to date.
Oh and remember differents zone also use different standards, either NTSC or PAL - make sure the dvd player will play the standard otherwise you will also need to convert.
