Hi. I'm new can someone help me? First, some of the dvds i'ved copied won't play in my dvd player or computer. After burning the dvd w/ dvd shrink the message will come up saying the burn was successful, but when i put it into my dvd player it won't read it and ejects the burned dvd. Then when i try it in my computer it never plays. The last dvd it happened w/ was sin city. Is there anything i can do to make it work. Second, can i change the burning speed to 8x. My computer can burn at that speed but whenever i use 8x dvds it will only burn at 2.4x. When i use 4x it burns at 4x. I thought 8x would be faster but it made it slower. thanks.

Again I ask what is the manufacturer and ID of your media being used (not the brand stamped on the media)? I gave you a link to a proggy that will tell you in my other post. Also what make and model dvdrw do you have and is your firmware up to date? Your drive may be in PIO mode and needs to be in DMA. Here's a guide. http://dvdxcopy.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/107928 Most here recommend keeping your burn speed to 4x to minimize burn errors.

Check these things and let me know:
manufacturer and ID of your media
dvdrw make, model, and f/w vs
was drive in PIO

I would definately get some better media. Here are some media codes for GQ. Not good.

GQ (Great Quality) DVD+R 4x (AML-001-000)
GQ (Great Quality) DVD+R 4x (MEDIA ID001)
GQ (Great Quality) DVD+R 8x (OPTODISCOR8)
GQ (Great Quality) DVD+R 8x (PRODISCR03)
GQ (Great Quality) DVD+RW 2.4x (INFODISCA01)
GQ (Great Quality) DVD-R 4x (LEADDATA01..)
GQ (Great Quality) DVD-R 4x (PRINCO......)
GQ (Great Quality) DVD-R 8x (TYG02) ??FAKE??

You can download this free utility to tell you make model and f/w revision of your dvdrw and media ID as well. http://www.vso-software.fr/inspector/inspector.htm Let me know what the f/w revision is and if it will tell you the media ID.
