unfortunately that didn't work and phone now saying restricted so I assume we will need to have it cable unlocked?

Hi again, have just read that the IMEI is preferred without spaces so againg, I have a Nokia 6230i that I need to unlock. The IMEI is 357097002831027, it is locked to Orange and it is UK handset.

Hi psxnut,
tried that one last night and no joy.
Also tried #pw+034233753234747+1# and - #pw+217805337550513+5#
Those are the numbers thrown up by the online calculator I found, the 7th code is exactly the same as the one you gave me last night so I assume the other codes will be same as you found?
When I try any of the codes it gives me 'cannot undo restriction' message.
Any other ideas?

when it says "cannot undo restriction" it means you have used your 5 wrong tries, its a cable unlock for you now.

Hey was wondering if anyone could help with this situation. My father gave me his old Nokia 6230, which he bought in Kazakhstan last year, and it is already unlocked and can use any service provider. However, when i put my sim card in it asks for the security code. Neither my father, nor myself have ever used the security codes, however we do use the pin codes. When the pin code is entered, using either sim, it now asks for the security code. He claims to have never used the security code, but none of the default codes listed at nokias website work.... Any clues on how to reset the security code?????
