Using dvd decrypter:

It depends on what you are trying to backup and what type of blank disc you are backing up.

Dvd-9 to DVD-9 blank and also DVD-5 to DVD-5 blank:
Dvd decrypter:Mode ISO read-click icon to harddrive/Mode ISO write-locate mds file and burn icon.

Dvd-9 to Dvd-5:These will have to be compressed.
DVD Decrypter in file mode to hard drive.
Open up dvd shrink/open file.
Locate that ISO file on hard drive/reauthor or entire disc
Backup.

Dvd decrypter can't compress. Mode iso read and write are a 1:1 copy,no compression. If backup needs compressed, then you need a compressing program like DVD Shrink .

I usually by-pass the DVD Decrypter step on ripping.Since the majority of original dvds are dvd-9s,you have to use DVD Shrink to compress. I use DVD Shrink to rip/ compress/encode/then you can either use Nero or DVD Decrypter to burn.

Sometimes DVD Shrink won't cut through an encryption,so that's where another program called AnyDVD will come it.It will help DVD Shrink to rip the newer encryptions.
