OK. Here I'm with some noob questions ;( I couldn't find the right topic or I can say "there is to much topic to chearch in"...

I'm familiar with DivX, avi, mpg... but I've no idea how to encode mpg to dvd and how to add chapters to dvd. I have to add 17 chapters to that mpg video file. And is it possible to add an mp3 files to a DVD to listen on DVD player and jpg files to view on a DVD player? I'm looking for a One-click transcode tool, easy to use or something elese to use... And finaly how to burn that files on DVD+/-R. Which media is better, DVD+R or DVD-R for a stand-alone DVD player?

My file to encode is:
*.mpg
SIZE: 3.12 GB (or 3,197 MB or 3,274,040 KB or 3,352,616,964 bytes)
VIDEO: MPEG-2, 544x576, 4:3
FPS: 25
KBPS: 7245
AUDIO: MPEG-1 Layer 2, 48000Hz CBR 192 kb/s total (2 chnls)

You can Probably author this File to DVD without re-encodeing it which would be the best bet because re-encodeing will just Lower the Quality...If you do author this File to DVD without re-encodeing you will be Makeing a Non-Standard DVD but it should Play on most all DVD Players....

There is only one Program that will let you Author this File to DVD without re-encodeing it and that is "MediaChance DVDLab Pro" which is also one of the Best DVD Authoring Programs arround.....
The resolution of your File (544+576) is the Same resolution used by some Satalite and Digital Cable Transmitions so your TV set shouldn"t have any Problems Displaying the Non-Standard Resolution....(This File is in PAL Format so I hope you Live in a PAL Country Like in Europe or Asia??)

DVDLab Pro will let you add up to 99 chapters and up to 99 menu"s to your Movie and it will compile it all into a "Video_TS" folder which it then Burns to DVD or you can Burn it to DVD useing a Seperate Program Like Nero...
It will take you a Bit of Trial and error to Figure out how to use the Program but once you learn how to use it you will find it is an Invaluable Program.....

As For what DVD"s are the Most Compatible with DVD Players I would say that DVD-R"s are Slightly more Compatible with more Players But just Slightly...Pretty Much any Newer DVD Player (Made in the Last 3 years) should be able to Play both DVD-R"s and DVD+R"s.....

And Yes you can Burn MP3 files to DVD and Play them on a MP3 enabled DVD Player but it is Better to make a Proper Audio DVD which uses the Dolby Digital AC3 audio format which is also a Better quality Format than MP3 and you can Fit allmost as Much Music in Dolby Format as you can in MP3 format.....

Thank you very much... I've just made ma first DVD with main 3hours-movie, 14 video-clips, 1 slide show, and some extras ;) Using this MediaChance DVDLab Pro was quite difficult at the begining but then... it was fun and easy...
