Hey Folks,

Newbie here... I am using DVD Shrink/Nero 6 to backup some DVDs with TDK Media on WinME machine... The whole process seems to go smoothly, but the discs will not read on home APEX DVD player (must be 8 years old now). The disc will play fine on my computer if I use Intervideo Win DVD. If I try to use MPC 6484, audio comes across ok, but the video is scrambled, as if I didn't have rights to the playboy channel on cable...

I will try verbatim discs to see if that helps... If anyone else could give some thought...

Thanks

What is the make/model and current firmware on your burner? Go into the Nero Info Tool to obtain the information. Have you tried it on another standalone player other than the Apex to see if it plays?

Toshiba DVD-ROM 6112 Firmaware 1031.. I hope to check in a different player over this weekend.

WHy would one software program play them over another as I discussed in first post?

Thank you for your help.

Your burner firmware is up to date but not sure how old that last update is. If you can try it on someone else standalone to rule out a burning problem. Standalones have firmware in them just like PC DVD-Rom drives, your old player may not like this media.

Does your stand alone player play DVDRs? Some older units will not play either DVD-R or DVD+R.
