was thinking about getting a fliptop lid for my ps2 50003 silver not slimline not sure what version, had a look around and u can get all different colours then i came acroos this not sure if it works or not, but if u know where or anybody as one thats for sale that fits my ps2 send me a pm or email

DO I HAVE TO BUY THE FLIP-TOP COVER TO DO THIS "SWAP TRICK" ON MY PS2?

No. However, if you don't use the Flip-Top lid you will need to leave your factory PS2 cover OFF when performing the swap of the Swap Magic Disc and your PS2 CDR or DVDR back-up. This leaves the PS2 open to dust, and with the cover left off your PS2 is more susceptible to damage from someone moving it while left apart.

yes, you will need to modd the PS2 to play back up games
You will either need a flip top & Swap Magic
Or if yours looks just like the regular black PS2
then you can make a slidecard and use Swap Magic
But i think the flip top is much easier to use.

Of course there are always mod chips too.
Which is the very best way to go.
But if you get one get a good one
DMS4 Pro, DMS4 Lite, Matrix Infinity
or even the DMS4 EZI solderless chip if it is compatible
it should work with any PS2 other than a slimline.
yours should be a V9 by that number

ok cant afford to get it chipped at the momment so will go 4 fliptop little bit cheaper, been on ebay and seen a guy whos got one the same number as mine and a few more saying a fliptop lid v4-7 it will fit so im not sure if its v9

according to the link i posted above, the 50003
is a V9

If your model # is SCPH-50000, 50001, 50010, 50002, 50003 or 50004 you have a V9 PS2 main board (GH-023 board).
SCPH 50001 / 50010 date code 3a-3b-3c is a V9.
SCPH-55006/55007 GT ( white console ) is also a V9.

PS2 Console - Version 9 Indentification

If your PS2 Console is a Satin Silver PS2 or it has the built in Infrared Reciever (between the Reset and Eject buttons) then you have a Version 9 PS2 Console.


SCPH : 50001 ? 50002 ? 50003 ? 50004
