Here's the firmware from pioneer:
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/article/0,,2076_4273_128163...
Look for your drive in the list - latest version is 1.08
Also it looks like the middle part of the Nero log is missing. Can you post the whole log - there may be other problems. Since you were able to rip them we now just need to help you get them burned.

That was just 1 occurence, i realize this isnt the right forum but alot of the times recently on Nero recode when i try to back stuff up, it says burn process failed while its encoding. I dont know why, it just happens with certain movies or series. Usually dvdshrink will take it if Nero wont.

Well G-Dizzle
I think we just found the source of your problem!! HP and unknown brand dvd's. Firmware upgrade may help but still these discs to put it bluntly are probably crap! Run them thru Nero ToolKit > cd-dvd speed test. Click on the disc info tab and post back the manufacturer id. This will tell us how good or bad they really are.

The firmware thing I'll hopefully have an anwser on tomorrow. There's also no readme text so I still at a loss.
I use Recode all the time and haven't run into this problem. You're probably burning w/ Nero w/ shrink so this is kinda strange. Do you have a log you can post from 1 of those failures?

nO I HAVE NO LOG IT happens quite often anymore so it fails burning it fails with the encodeing and or reading illlet u know if it happens again.

As for my media, i havent really had any problems maybe 2-3 bad burns outta 100 of each differant kind of media, both prolly my fault.

Is something else running this file?

Also did you uninstall & reinstall Nero w/o InCD? If not try at least uninstalling InCD.

I'm at a loss. You can check task manager and see if another other program (copying or playing) is running and shut it down. Did you uninstall InCD?
I see if I can get the aD Nero expert - Creaky - to take a look at this log.

Just pm'd the expert so let's wait and see.
I check on that firmware issue tomorrow and find out what the deal is - it's really annoying me!

hehe, i couldn't get hold of the Nero expert so i dropped by in his place :)

just tried accessing the 1.08 firmware link from my side of the pond and it's working so grab it while you can -
http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1615

As to the access denied error, this XP annoyance springs to mind if the tickbox is ticked (on the dvd burner), untick it -

(it may not be that but it's worth checking). Also worth checking is this (snagged this from one of Nephilim's posts) - try setting Windows IMAPI service to manual.

Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services>IMAPI CD Burning COM service set to manual. This won't completely disable the service - only render it inoperative unless you specifically open Windows burning service.

DiskPeripheral : WDC WD1200BB-00GUA0 atapi Port 0 ID 0 DMA: On
CdRomPeripheral : PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-106D atapi Port 1 ID 0 DMA: On
CdRomPeripheral : SAMSUNG CD-ROM SC-140C atapi Port 1 ID 1 DMA: On

that's wierd as i read the above ports to mean that the Western Digital hard drive's master on the primary ide channel, the pioneer is master on the secondary channel (which i guess is where the firmware flasher expects to find the pioneer). anyway, what i suspect is that the firmware flasher is not happy about having the cd-rom drive on the same cable/channel as the pioneer ?...
