I'm a newbie at this stuff so could someone be good enough to explain the following!?:

What's the difference between the dvds and cds that game programmers manufacture (and run without any modding whatsoever) and the dvds and cdr's that i burn on my computer (that don't run without modding)?... presumably there's some formatting going on at all these game manufacturer's computers that makes it recognisable by sony's ps2?

I've heard lots about ARmax and ARmax evo, could anybody explain the difference!? - and does the MAX Media Creator that comes with it burn cdr's that are stand alone (i.e: don't need to put ARMax cd everytime to load them?)...

Sorry for the lengthy question, any help would be great thanks.

games are pressed with a machine. They also put a security code on the disc in a place that ONLY the ps2 can read, so you cannot reproduce it.

agree with sly_61019
ther is an area on the original, burst cutting area,
that the burner just can not burn
so that is why you need to mod your PS2 to play them
but it is well worth it in the end.
