Ok, I encoded an AVI of a movie, and I used IfoEdit, and now I am trying to burn the files.

I'm using Nero and it's registered. Everything was going fine until about 50% of the way, it said 'Unspecified target error', 'Burn process failed at 2.4x (~3,324 KB/s)'.

I'm using the HP DVD Writer that came with this PC (HP DVD Writer 200J), and the firmware is 1.36. I read somewhere else to go to this site: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_result.php?kaj=1&isces , but I don't know which firmware update I need to get. Oh, this is what DVD Info Pro got about the DVDs i'm using:

No, they are 3.9GB (4,193,062,912 bytes)

VTS_01_1.VOB: 0.99GB
VTS_01_2.VOB: 0.99GB
VTS_01_3.VOB: 0.99GB
VTS_01_4.VOB: 926MB
VIDEO_TS.BUP: 6KB
VIDEO_TS.IFO: 6KB
VTS_01_0.BUP: 62KB
VTS_01_0.IFO: 62KB

oh, IFOEdit is bugged? And the programs you mentioned use the .mp2 and .m2v files, right?

And about the DVD Shrink question..I don't have it, nor have I ever used it D:

*edit*

I just downloaded DVD Shrink and I loaded the files..it didn't give me any errors. But like I said, i've never used this before, so I don't know what you mean by "testing"

it does yes but by itself no intervention from you, avi2dvd and film machine are pro apps they are frontend gui with alot of apps running behind to go from AVI to dvd even compress make 5.1 or 2.1ch and both can usee CCE, i use CCE and film machine has dsroba 4 passes of CCE in 1.

if they load to shrink files are probably ok, use shrink to make an iso and burn with DVD Decrypter instead.

Nothing here to see, move along folks.

OK, can you give me like..a walkthrough of what I need to do? I used TMPGEnc to encode the .AVI, so I have the .mp2 and .m2v files.

Do I need to use a different program and re-encode the .AVI to get those files again?

I have literally no idea what to do now, heh. I'm probably the biggest idiot when it comes to this.

OK I have The FilmMachine and the trial version of CCE. We'll see if it works.

Thanks for all the help.

*edit*

It seems the trial version of CCE + the filmmachine = a no-go :(

hi

the built in hcenc is very good, CCE needs the full version as it wont save to file in the process, and this needs to be done...

just try hcenc encoder...

avi2dvd has hcenc too...

with film machine you can use canopus procoder aswell i think..
