All are the same quality just depends on if you want to print directly on the discs or not. If you have an printer like the epson or canon that will print directly to disc then get the white printable ones. If not just get the lacquer.
Another good site I use 99% of the time is:

I've been ordering TY's from Meritline.com for about two years now. So far I haven't gotten any fakes and I usually get 8X when I order 4X.

choices from the aforementioned 3 online retailers are ALL quality TY media~ as binkie stated, it's really based on YOUR NEEDS for which media you choose to go with; whether you want printables, or shiny silver, or silver lacquer, etc...it's based on PERSONAL preference and what you would like to do with them

just stick with the Taiyo Yuden media from those 3 stores...you will not be disappointed :)

Recommended Media:

Taiyo Yuden 4x dvd-r TYGO1/ 8x dvd-r TYGO2/ 8x dvd+r YUDEN000T02/ 16x dvd+r YUDEN000T03
Verbatim 8x dvd+r MCC003
Verbatim dvd+r DL (MKM001)= flawless no compression backups

I don't care for that price difference since it resolves the numerous problems I have with all the different models of DVD players.

@jeff6898,

If your dvd burner is capable of "book typing" then get the Taiyo +R media instead. Why..??? Because you can book type the DVD+R into a DVD-ROM format, which is far better and more compatible for all functional dvd players. Other than that, both Taiyo -R/+R are great with the same quality. In contrast, anything that is genuine Yuden then you shouldn't have to worry about, unless you're getting them "fake TY" then that's another story.

Who's the manufacturer of your drive? You may have one that supports it then there would be less reading!

Your drive supports book typing.
You can only booktype dvd+R's. This will make your player think it's reading a dvd rom which is more universally compatible.
