hi guys,
would like to hear from you all about the current copyright laws on copying dvd's, as i understand it you can copy your own dvd's and not borrowed or from a rental place or from the internet,does this mean you can backup you own dvd's and then sell the original mmmmmmm.my current thinking is this is a big con,if say you rent a dvd you have paid to watch that movies so why can you not copy it and watch it whenever you wantthey have already made there money at the box office then whoever buys the dvds then what they get of the likes of blockbusters etc then selling it to tv
then pay for view all the merchandise from it now who is fooling who here. i am a builder if i build someone a house could i then charge them every time they entered it and left it.no to me it is the same if you pay money to rent a film you should be able to watch it at your leisure i can understand them when they are off the internet(you havent paid anything for it) or you sell them to other people for profit that is not fair and should be against the law but the average joe who pays for his rentals should be able to copy them.

i better get off the soap box now and give someone else a chance,what are your thoughts on the matter

Might not this be better addressed in "Safety Valve" than here where disscussions pertain to the techniques of "DVD ripping"?
