thanks but i tried that and it still isnt working any other ideas. I have been using decrypter to do most of my games and either they freeze or the swap magic tells me that it isnt a valid ps2 disc. everything was working fine before. I dont know what happened maybe its my ps2

make sure the aspi layers are installed and working correctly,you can use Nero info tool for this

I had problems with the aspi, cddvdgen just was not for working even with the correct aspi's, however i did find out if you export the imi rather than pressing record, you can then use Apache to make the ISO.

i did everything they tell you do to install the aspi but it will not say fully working properly and cdvdgen is till saying
recording unit not connected initialization failed. hursty what do you want me to do at this site

A lot of burners have problems with the program, on the site hursty posted there's a patch of cdvdgen that makes it work with more burners, sadly my burner was not included in the list :( also thanks for the link hursty, i was looking for a guide on how to get multiple games on 1 DVD :)

there is only a handful of burners,that can be used with cd/dvd gen properly
dont worry about it,just click past it
this will give you a bunch of iml files
then you use iml2dvd to make an iso
then burn it how you would normally

I always get the 2 errors that you mentioned. recording unit not connected and initialisation failed... they're the 2 errors you're supposed to get, then the recording unit comes up and then you go to file and export.. wait for it to finish and then you use dos to create the iso from the bin files.

yeah thats the problem after i type in the slus thing and then the # then Playstation it hit the record button and it asks me where i want the file to go and i select where i want it to go and i hit save and it does nothing just sits there. so i wait and wait still nothing. Sp i go in the folder to where i have cdvdgen on my computer and go to the recorder myself and then it gives me those recorder failed and initalization failed messages and it will come up but i can not get it to make the iml files still. So is there anyway i can open the recorder and pull the files from the cdvdgen screen with all the files on it to the recorder?
