I read on this forum somewhere that you should only by blank DVD's that are made in Japan. So , I bought a cake box of 25 Sony DVD+R at Target.They had "Made in Japan" on the box. Last night I went to Wal-Mart and picked up a 50 pck of the same Sony DVD+R's. Got home and was looking at the label.It said "Made in Taiwan" Why the difference? Does this mean the 50 pack I bought is going to have more coasters then good ones?

 It really depends on your burner and what you're playing them on .. Both are very high quality discs that will last for a long time and produce a very low percentage of coasters

The Sony +R MIJ should code out as TY YudenT002.
The Sony +R MIT should code out as Sony D11.

I have had great success with both.

I've burned both the SonyD11 and the Yuden000-T02 sony +1x-8x and both are very good.

Sony does have taiwan and japan make their media in both the plus and dash formats. Usually when they go on sale,the spindles will be all mixed together so a little sorting can yield the Taiyo Yuden sony media. For the same on sale price,I prefer the yudens.

Both are sweet!
