I hear that media is very important when backing up ps2 games. I am using verbatim 16x dvd-r media and the game I'm backing up plays but has very choppy video and audio. It's not the ps2, because everything else works fine, like backups of ps1 games on cd-r. I burned it at 2x, which I hear is the best speed. I use dvd decrypter. So my question: Is verbatim good media? If not, what should I try, and where can I find it? ie. is it at any local bestbuy or should I buy it online? Thank you.

Verbatim is good media, as long as it has the MCC dye.

dvd decrypter tells me I'm using the MCC 03RG20 verbatim media. These are the high quality media, so why is the game skippy? I have a dms4 pro chip and v7 ps2, and I burned the game at 2x with DVD Decrypter. What could be wrong?

Well, I prefer to burn my ISO's w/ Alcohol 120, Alcohol just seems to burn a cleaner copy. But that is just my opinion on that. Also, you could try changing to the best media out there, Ritek w/ G03 or G04 dye or true Taiyo Yuden discs.

Another thing you could try is changing your media from -R to +R. V7 ps2's and above seem to like +R a little more, and read them better compared to DVD-R. But again, this is just my opinion from personal experience.
