firstly hey guys/girls just signed up after reading a few of the threads on here. but i need a little help.

i dont know what i can/cannot talk about in here so if i say something that i shouldnt then i appologise.

recently i have had my xbox chipped and bios flashed and now i have the latest version of avalaunch but im xperienceing a few problems when im trying to connect my laptop to the xbox. i know this has been discussed before but ive been through most of the threads and to no avail.

firstly what am i doing? all i want to do is ftp into the xbox using cute ftp onthe laptop, but can this be done with a crossover cable directly connected between both hardwares?

i know how to use cute ftp ect ect, but i get an error when connecting.. no "direct route to host" anyone have any ideas? or an idiot proof guide on how to do this?

Thanks in advance guys/gals

Dave

right im in, the problem was that i was using a network cable not a crossover cable but im stiull having problems.

I am running the avalaunch dash and trying to get in with cute ftp, now it shows the directories on the xbox but no files within these directories.

also after a certain amount of time, roughly 5 mins the xbox crashes and I cannot view anymore directories or move anything on the xbox dash. could this be a cute ftp problem, or is it something wrong with avalaunch itself?

should i be using flash fxp for this?

Thanks in advance guys

ok, not every directory has stuff in it. from memory it's usually the c and e directories. I think. can't remember and I aint about to check coz it is 1am here. As for you being disconnected, most ftp programs have an automatic timout setting. Where if you do nothing for to long it will auto disconnect you. check in your options for this setting. And don't use FlashFXP, it is crap and they expect you to pay for it. If ya gonna swap programs go to www.download.com and grab Core FTP lite. It's free and works really well.
:-)
