So, I have a V9 PS2 modded with DMS4 and firmware Toxic Bios 1.3.
I did a backup of God of War with DVD Decrypter on Traxdata media in 2.0x speed.
I turn on the "DVD DL enable" in the DMS4 menu.
As I try to run my backup, it shows the red "not a PS2 disk" screen ...

What did I wrong please ?

Is it a dual layer disc you are burning to?
And i have never heard of Traxdata, you may
want to try a better media.
And also one that is a higher speed than 2X
like 4X or better yet 8X

Also what DMS4 chip is it. I assume it is DMS4 Lite?
If it is DMS4 Pro you need ToxicOS V0.3

Traxdata is a DVD+R DL Ritek technologies. I read it's one of the best media (with Verbatim). The one I used is 8x compatible. I just burned it in 2x speed :p

In fact, I don't know exactly if the DMS4 chip is the Pro or Lite one. I bought it in "second hand". What heppens if I try to install OS 0.3 on a Lite version ? Will I just have an error message 'cause there's not enough flash ram on it ? Or will I have a chance to damage it ?

the DMS4 Pro will work with either the ToxicBIOS or
ToxicOS. But the lite will only work with the ToxicBIOS
I am not sure what will happen if you try to put the
ToxicOS on a DMS4 Lite chip, but i doubt it would hurt the
chip. It just would not work. You can always re-flash it with the
correct upgrade.
But both the Lite and Pro chips support Dual Layer media

Ok, you confirm what I thought but ... I still don't know what was wrong :p

I read somewhere that I had to change the booklet properties to switch it to DVDR-W ... do you do that to make a working copy ?

I have not done any dual layer games. dual layer
discs are just too expensive to mess with.
The only one i have a back up of is God Of War
and that one i just waited for someone to fix it,
then downloaded it already shrunk to DVD5
Rather than trying to do all the work myself and
wasting discs. Since the DVD Decrypter web site is no longer
around i can not just go there and get the answer for you
about the book type.
