my computer is really old (it's a 1997 model from gateway... costed $2000 when it came out) and i have a CD burner on it that my uncle installed- i forget what speeed it can burn at... i think it's 18x but i'm not sure. anyway... it doesn't work because every time i try to make a CD on it (I use EZ CD Creator 4)it goes on for about 1 or 2 tracks, then it stops and says "ERROR- BUFFER OVERFLOW" and it stops. it does this with all files- .doc, .bmp, .mp3, you name it. it doesn't work. any way to fix it?

i'm running 2000 pro with EZ CD Creator 4 (no update) and my CD burner is a Mitsumi CD-ROM drive. I looked at it o hte inside and I found that one of the plugs was unplugged, but it has nowhere to go... meh.

try the burner on another computer but most likely is the software that is causing the problem. i have the adaptec/roxio 5 platnium which is the upgrade on your 4 & it prevents buffer underruns if it is enabled.

you don't wear gloves, just touch the metal part of the case before touching the motherboard.
