okay can u use ps1 memory cards in the ps2 slimline, i have tried two hip gear ones and they dont work in the slimline, do they have to be actuall sony ps1 memeory cards for them to work in the slimline ps2?

Or is there a special thing u have to do with the memory card?

are you trying to save ps1 games or ps2
because if your tring to save ps2 games on a ps1 memory card it wont work
ps2 games recognise ps2 memorycards only and ps1 games recognise ps1 memcards only

i am tring to save ps1 games on to the ps1 memory card. i can load my old saves for the game, i saved them from my old ps2

that is so strange i havent played ps1 games since i got my slim ps2
and just hearing your problam i went to test mine and it doesnt work either mine is a gamemon memcard i went back to my thick ps2 and it works so sony must have got wise and stoped us from using other companies ps1 memcards

Mine works fine. I just played FF7 and can save. Its a purple Madcatz PS1 mem card.
