I had some memorex dvd-r I didn't know if the dvd+r was better nor worse but my dvd's that use to work in my ps2 with a dms4pro chip in them are starting to act up so I'm assuming since my laser isn't going bad that maybe its just having a hard time reading the disc's anythoughts on brand's...thx

what program do u use to copy your dvds or check if they are too scratch i dont think it's your laser unless you havent taken good care of your ps2 i doesnt really matter what brand i have sony DVD+R and they burn great and they play great too and i have the same mod chip dat u have

Start using proper media like Ritek, TDK, Tayo Yuden, Verbatim, etc. Memorex is just crap.
As for wether you should use + or -, try using both DVD+R and DVD-R, see which type your ps2 likes best.

I use DVD Decrypter to burn them so I dont' think its the program just the dvd's I take excellent care of my ps2 and maybe play it an hour a day if that maybe in the last month I might of played it 2 hours a day since I got my new modchip but it worked fine then sometimes i would just get the red screen... :( then sometimes not so...I really don't know but I'll try some different brands I think the reason I bought those were because bestbuy had a sale for 7.99 a 25 pack or something..thx for the input
