Help need burning dvd's

I have searched the entire forum for my problem and have tried many of the solutions but nothing seems to work.

The issue that I am having is that when I back up one of my dvd's it burns fine without any errors but when i go and play it on my dvd player it skips and becomes very pixelated.

My burner is a memorex dual format. I have updated the firmware on it. I have tried Memorex 16x and Maxell 8x discs DVD -R and it still skips. I have burned at 16 and 8 speed. I have even tried 4x speed but my dvd player will not read the 4. My DVD player will only play -R. I am using DVD Shrink and Nero to burn it.

I have also tried using DVD shrink with DVD Decrytor. I burned at the speed of 8x on a Maxell 8x disc. I followed the directions down to a T from a website that I found on the forums here. When I went to go play it, it was in black and white and still skipped.

I have gone into my control panel for the DMA settings and the Primary ones are set to DMA. When I got into the Secondary it says Device 0 is PIO only and the other one is set to DMA.

I am unsure of what to do now. I have wasted many DVDs trying to burn just one and it all comes out the same, skipping. If anyone can help I appreciate it.

I reset my device 0 to DMA in the controller settings. Then I burned at a 4x and this time my DVD player read it fine. The color was due to my Television so I just flipped through channels to get the color setting back. The DVD played fine with no skips and with color.
