hello, first off let me say that i have backed up 150+ movies using shrink and anydvd but now i have run into a problem. Backing up my Scarface, Shrink would give me an error message then close. I figured out it was closing during the beginning of the encoding when a small boy jumps in the air. Is this the arrcoss (sp?) protection? If so how do i get rid of it, anydvd doenst do anything about it, or dvd decrypter in iso mode, dont know why. I decided to reauthor the movie and just take the main movie and menus and it worked fine, but i would like to get the knowledge of how to get rid of that kid :)
thanks in advance, i have heard you can "freeze" the kid, to stop the protection from running, but not sure.

If you use DVD Decrypter ver 3.5.4.0 ín file mode with default settings and without AnyDVD running - this boy should not be a problem in DVD Shrink.
WTF... You cant use any HTML tags in here...

Yes. As Cynthia stated above, you can use DVDDecrypter (latest version) using file mode, using the default settings, with no other programs running, and you will be able to rip. THEN, you can run the resulting files through DVDShrink (and re-author it) and remove the kid. However, once you have used DVDDecrypter as described above, the "kid" is no longer a bother. The problem is a structure problem, and DVDDecrypter will take care of that part of the equation.
You asked in your original post if this was Sony's ARccOS copy protection. Yes, it is. This is why DVDShrink will not work on it, if you try to use it for the initial read from the original disc. To read all about the various forms it can take, as well as the "jumping boy" and "running boy" and how to deal with these discs, you might take a careful look at this:

The running boy is not the ARccOS copy protection. ARccOS is bad sectors (CRC/IO errors). This is a structure protection system.
You can read a discussion about it in this thread:
