Hi could anyone tell me if it's possible to remove the soundtrack from a film, and replace it with the english version soundtrack.
I have downloaded a film which is perfect quality, but the soundtrack is in French. I also downloaded the same film again which is in English but the film quality is no where near as good as the other one. Can I capture the sound from one film , and insert it in the good film. I would appreciate any help on this as this has happened quite a few time to myself in the past.

First we need to know what format the files of the movie is in that u downloaded... if it is VOB and IFO it makes things a bit easier... if this is the case u can take it through too DVD Shrink and tick the english soundtrack and uncheck the forgin soundtrack...

Thanks for replying so quickly, and sorry for not supplying the format details. Well I'm afraid it's not the easy option you were hoping for. The good video file is in XviD format - details are :- Image 576x304 Audio duration 1.43.44 Bit rate 143kbps Audio Format MPEG layer-3 Video frame rate 23fps Data rate 114kbps Video sample size 12 bit Video compression XviD.

The film with the english audio but poor quality video is :- Image 352x240 Audio 1.23.28 bit rate 56 kbps Audio format MPEG layer-3 Video frame rate 14 frames/sec data rate 14 kbps.

I hope this information help, and you can offer a solution to combining the english soundtrack with the good video.

Firstly i have to say i am no pro at this but i have found a guide that will help u convert the XviD File to DVD format...

After that they should b VOB files and u can check and un check them while in CloneDVD or any other burning program u can even choose the proper channels u want in DVD Shrink...

Another possibly solution might be:

1) Use "TMPGEnc" (or "TMPGEncPlus") to convert the .AVI (DivX-compressed or otherwise) to compliant MPEG2-for-DVD format - You can use "TMPGEnc's" DVD wizard/template to accomplish this.

2) Use "TMPGEnc DVD Author" (a different program than "TMPGEnc") to easily create the required additional DVD files and structure (and chapters and a menu, if you wish).

**If the combined file size of the DVD "package" written to your hard drive is greater than 4.37Gb, use DVD Shrink to compress it down to fit on your recordable media.

If your operating system (O/S) is either Win2000 or WinXP, TMPGEnc DVD Author can also burn your DVD. Otherwise, use Nero to burn in "DVD-Video" mode - Tutorial Located here on how to do this: http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=221453#p...
