The Rar file is probably the image file that you burn with whatever DVD burning software you use. WinRAR will associate itself with disc image files if you don't have ISO specific software istalled. The MDS is an Alcohol 120% file. It's like a bin/cue for Alcohol 120%.

Disc images are generally either a single ISO file, or an ISO + MDF, or an MDS + MDF, or a BIN + CUE. An ISO, MDS, or BIN file contains actual data, and an MDF or CUE file can give extra info for the software that reads/burns the images.

Run DVD Decrypter. From the menu, choose Mode -> ISO -> Read, then rip the file. It should send the output to a file or files.

Use Alcohol or Nero to burn the image to a DVD. I have fewer problems with Alcohol. You can tell some software to burn an MDS, ISO, or BIN image to a disc without having an MDF or CUE file. Some software really likes to have the extra files.

I think DVD Decrypter creates an ISO and an MDF by default. Be sure you to tell it to burn an IMAGE, not just put the image file on the disc because that won't get you anywhere. If you have Alcohol, just go to the Image Burning Wizard and point it to the MDF file. The MDF will tell Alcohol to use the ISO file for the data. If you have no MDF, you can probably point it at the ISO and it will work fine.

Actually, I didn't need to type all of that... there are plenty of walkthroughs on the forums here. Do some searches.

yeah well i am really having problems i cant seem to find the ISO file. I Dide the Mode-Iso-Read and i put the Spiderman 2 Disc in the CD tray and pressed the DVD to HDD button. Then the output files are a .RAR file and a .MDS file. This is where i am lost. I cant find the .ISO file anywhere. What should i do with the .RAR and .MDS files? DO i burn the .MDS files to a disc?

Well, I've never seen a program create a RAR with an MDS, but what you should do is get software that can use the MDS file (Alcohol will, I don't think Nero does) and burn from the image.

I can't really think of how to phrase this next part... Don't burn a disc with the files ON it (data disc). This will just get you a disc with the image on it, just like it's on our hard drive. Whatever software you use, tell it to burn from an existing image file (point it to the MDS).

The only comparison I can think of at the moment is that putting the image file on a disc is like burning a CD with MP3's on it. A regular CD player doesn't know what to do with files. Burning from an image file (such as Alcohol's image burning wizard) is comparable to creating a regular audio CD from mp3 files.

Hope that helps rather than confusing

Personally, I haven't had great luck with DVD Decrypter's built in burning (I think it uses Nero?), but see if it works for you. I have better luck with Alcohol.
