I want to but at 4x, 2x if possible but I can only burn at 6x. I use a DVD Shrink/Nero combo for my DVDs. When I click "backup" on Shrink it only gives me the option of 6x, 8x and maximum. So how can I make so that it burns at 2x. Do I change something in Nero or what?

While discs may claim burning from 1-8X, it all boils down to what your drive recognizes them as. A perfect example is my Liteon SOHW 1693S using Maxell DVD+R. On the package they claim to be 1-8X, but my drive picks them up as writeable at 6X and 8X burn speeds. Sometimes a firmware update can correct this issue, if one is available. But sometimes it doesn't resolve the issue. Try experimenting with other quality brands to find one that lets you write at your desired speeds.
