I currently have a v12 PS2, magic swap, and have the magic tools installed. I tried a Sony dvd-r with no go. I even tried burning in 1x too. Tried DVD decryptor and Alcohol. Any ideas? Could it just be the blanks?

I would give either TDK or Verbatim a go and see how you get on. it could be that you have bad media or it could just be the game, BTW what game is it?
aye aye man

Best media for PS2 games backups? I've used tons and tons and hundreds of Yuden, Maxell and some Verbatim to do backups for both of my PS2 games and dvd movies flawlessly. Below is what I prefer as in order.
01) genuine Taiyo Yuden 8X DVD+R (including both 8X DVD+R Fuji & Sony "Made In Japan")
02) Maxell 8X DVD+R "Made In Japan"
03) Verbatim 8X DVD+R (manufactured code: MCC003)

OK well I went out and bought a pack of maxell HighGrade 8X DVD+R's and a pack of Maxell 4x DVD-R's Both say made in japan. neither worked. Let me explain whats going on in more detail.
When I load up the magic Swap dvd disc I get the screen that says:
Load Program
Video: (NTSC/PAL/NORMAL)
Press X for normal boot Square for Special boot.
After I get to teh menu I open the tray and put in the backup. When I open it up the screen reads something like Lager Toc file needed. I pop in the backup and then it takes me back to the boot screen. When I press x or square to boot it will not boot the blank.
I used Alcohol to burn the images at 4X. It sounds like im doing everyhting right? What u guys think?
Also with the 3 fixes I put into the ps2 the fix that goes here:
last night I broke the reset button off my newly bought PS2. So I packaged it up, brought it to EB Games, (I had a warrenty) and said I wanted to return it.
The cashier said she could give me a used slim ps2, it would come with a 6 month warrenty and i'd actually get $15 back. So I did that, and I got a older model so I just put in fix 3 without a hitch.
But i am afraid that fix 3 might be beat up from me trying to fit it somewhere it should have been going? But it is fully in there but the bottom of the piece may be a little bent. Could this be a problem??
thank again for all the help.
