I got this xbox already softmodded and the dude said I have to use a specific (X2 1mb) bios flash #xbins didn't have anything called X2. It's a dual boot. eject starts Media X, power starts evox. Do I need to flash it. I want to be able to put in a game disk, ftp, rip, burn, play, (with Craxtion probably)
I've got a spice chip I was going to install but if I don't have to, I'll save it for another xbox.

I assume you allready managed to Solder the Write Protect Jumper and both D0 ponts? If not your going to need to!
It might help to know extactly which XBOX? Ver., you have! There are Eight different Versions out there! If you decide to use a Firmware Image that was not ment for your XBOX? you'll zap it stright to XBOX? Heaven!! It would also help to know if you can in fact even use a full 1Mb Firmware Image. (If you indeed can then that would narrow you down to a v1.0 or v1.1 XBOX?),.
Note that YOU SHOULD MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR FIRMWARE AND GET IT OFF BOTHE THE XBOX? AND PC!!!
Nothing I mean nothing will Fuxx up your Day then fuxx'ing up your TSOP! If you mannage to fuxx that up you can kiss your XBOX Live!? and your Stock HDD goodbye! If you're to cheap to shell out for an Aladin (e.g. $10.00(USD) Modchip),. Then I recomend you just stick with the Phenoix BIOS Loader! As this will not cause you to fuxx up your TSOP...
I'll leve you whit this thought. If you're looking for something that just works! Go with a Modchip. Flashing the TSOP is very VEARY dangerous! If you screw it up, or something else causes it to screw up you will have lost a +$150.00(USD), XBOX?. At least flashing a Modchip with a bum Firmware Image can be corrected simply enough! But, you only get one shoot at flashing the TSOP. Besides you which you'll still need the original Retail Firmware Image if you ever plan on going Live!?.
Not to mention you'll also need the original retail Firmware to unlock your HDD. Without which you can chuck the Drive, as you will never be able to use it ever again. As the Lock-Key would no longer exist. So you're defently going to want to unlock that HDD before the big show.
As far as Firmware Images go... You can use any 1Mb Image it'll be the same identical Image as you'd use in your Modchip. As opposed to say a BFM (Phoenix BIOS Loader), Image.
