I am looking at sending my PS2 out to be modded. We bought the unit shortly after they were released I think (Its a version 3; serial number starts U2).

The game does not get used a lot, maybe a 10 hours a month on average.

One option is to buy a new a new unit and have it modded right away, another would be to have a mod chip installed and use the original laser, or my last option would be to have a mod chip and a new laser installed.

Any comments?

Any other recommendations? Id rather not spend 250 on a new modded machine, but if that is clearly the way to go, then thats what I may do.
