I am running a Barton XP2500 at it's stock 1.8ghz. Will overclocking to 2.3ghz (which I have done successfully before) give any improvements in DVDShrink's encoding times???
I realize that this is not exactly a dramatic clockspeed increase, but maybe some of you folks out there have had experience with this.

Thanks.

While I don't have any experience in overclocking, logic would seem to point to a faster processor producing faster results in Shrink. As long as you keep things cool and stable, it should be alright. But as you said, it's not that great of a leap, so I don't know how much improvement you'll see. Just remember that Shrink uses 100% of your processor the whole time it's running. Heat could be an issue without proper cooling.

I fully agree with zippyd. The faster the cpu the faster the encode times. Keep an eye on those temps. I have a 2.8 ghz P4 oc'd to 3.2 ghz and don't have any problems but I also added a 120 mm fan to the front of my case.
