Hello

I'm trying the new version and have a problem.
When I try to backup a DL movie into a single layer dvd, the output of the software is not playable. I tryied to back it up to my HD but got the same result - The player blinks for 1 sec (black screen) but the movie won't play.
I choose "main movie" or "custome", but the same result.
Can anyone help me with this one?
Thank you for your help,
gil.

i hope you didn't buy it, i hope you are using the 5 days trial they offer, intervideo outputs the second best picture quality out of all the software outthere but, it also comes with a number of problems that it made me and others stop using it. problems like: the one you had, no audio, wrong audio and others. take my advise, forget it, don't use it.

Nero Recode2 or Shrink using deep analysis and AEC/ fabdecrypter or anydvd running in the background/ IMGBurn to burn/main movie only mode= perfect.

@elizerroj

Intervideo is only giving a five day trial on the program, they used to give a longer one.

Based on elizerroj list and many others that would fall into the lines of Rebuidler Pro/CCE Basic encoder or HC by Hanks (Free) and perhaps cloendvd 2/AnyDvd (anydvd works well with a variety of progs.). I agree with Copy 3 (haven't tested 4) excep in my case it works quite well (when I reauthor I use customize and no problem). Remember if you want great quality then Rebuilder/CCE is hard to beat...Quality and speed then there are several: CLoneDvd2, Intercopy 3, and Recode 2. Download the trials and continue to try them out to see what works with your system.

Hi there,

I tryed InterVideo CopyDVD4 to convert some .AVI to DVD.

The quality is excellent but I really hate that there is no chapters, no menus, and you can't use the scroll and move forward in the movie with PowerDVD.

Quality = Good
Little Details = A big fail :)

My 2 cents...

yeah cougar_ii the NO re-authoring capabilities and NOT being able to control the burn speed makes it a very sub par program.i hardly ever use it anymore because of this

i agree completely with the above posts, however intervideo will accept output from dvdremake ( i suspect vobblanker as well but have yet to try ) , and those files can be burnt with CopyToDVD
a huge software recipe , but for those that have purchased intervideo dvdcopy 4 , this method will work i've used it with great results on around 10 movie backups so far and no audio or video problems yet

zest yes that will work BUT the main problem everyones having with this program is doing the movie only you never know what you are going to get on the audio ,so its just alot easier to use CloneDVD 2 with AnyDVD you can re-author and the picture quality is close to being as good as DVDCopy 3

my two cents. this application cost too much money to risk buying it, the company seems to be paying no attention to e-mails about the problems costumers are having, when the copy 4 came out, i use it with the same resolts as copy 3, great picture quality but, the problems with audio are the same as those in the copy 3. my advise again, don't buy it until you use the 5 days trial.

Nero Recode2 or Shrink using deep analysis and AEC/ fabdecrypter or anydvd running in the background/ IMGBurn to burn/main movie only mode= perfect.

@aabbccdd. it is really too bad they won't or can't fix IC3 or 4 problems. i have IC3 and i can tell you the picture quality of the backup is great(only second to RB). oh well. whenever i feel there is too much compression to be given, i use RB/HC main movie-only. in my opinion nothing can beat that, not even CCE.

p:s: that HC is super, a little slower than CCE but as good and sometimes better.

Nero Recode2 or Shrink using deep analysis and AEC/ fabdecrypter or anydvd running in the background/ IMGBurn to burn/main movie only mode= perfect.

clone dvd2 is great , but another program that i have used and imho a little better is AnyDVD with recode2, the person that developed shrink is on the recode payrole and i find the movies produced by this software to be a little better than CloneDVD, the colours just seem richer
i also find its reauthoring abilities to be a little more helpful than clones, recode2 gives the user the ability to apply more compression to the menu and the extras if you want them
dont get me wrong i really like clonedvd2 , i just think recode2 produces better output , the king of course in dvdrebuilder with hc

@zest, I'm with you in regards to the quality of output that Recode 2 has...I still stick with Rebuilder/CCE Basic or HC by Hanks as for the big jobs, but for smaller situations I have been using Recode 2, even over CloneDVD 2. I still like Clonedvd2, just prefer using Recode 2. I still feel, in my opinion and experience, that it is hard to distinquish between CCE and HC, but I use CCE more just because I never worry about possible problems occuring after the burn and during the time I preview the movie.

I also have DVD Copy 3.........At first had many problems with it.

Had many problems w/ movie menus, they didn't work.

Also true that it burns at max speeds, more chance for errors.

What I did is got a Plextor DL Layer burner. One of the best purchases I've ever made. It comes w/ PlexTools software.

You control the burn & writting speeds. No matter what burning software you use.

Lately, have had pretty good results using DVD Copy 3. I don't think I'm gonna upgrade to 4 though.

Thinking about purchasing Clone DVD2, I already have AnyDVD.

just my 2 cents also...........

Questions, I have Nero 6.......does it come w/ Recode2 ?? Does Recode2 compress . Also where can I find a guide to using Recode ????

Sorry so many questions.......being off the subject.

Just dumped DVD Copy 3 on my PC.

Too many issue's w/ movie menus.

Already have Clone DVD 2 , Nero Recode , & DVD Shrink on my PC. All 3 have been much more reliable.

yeah DVDCopy 3 with the NO re-authoring capabilities and NOT being able to control the burn speed makes it def. a sub-par program ,the ONLY reason i sometimes use the program is to re-rip some of my backups that i have on not so good media (prodisc) lol and it does read dvds that are scrathed up that CloneDVD 2 wont so that also
