Error 21 - Box not modded at all

This message just came up one day when booting. The box is not modded, and no mods have ever been attempted. Is there any way to fix this?

it means your dashboard is corrupt.you should be able to bootup a dashboard from a dvdr or get it modded and get a dashboard put in.

goodluck finding the original dashboard file i cant find it anyware i have the same problem the only way i can get the file is to take it to a shop where they can mod it.i hear the slayers disk might have it but i dont know where to find that either.as for a dvd if you know someone with the file get them to burn it onto a dvdr or cdrw might work.the other answer is to link a modded xbox to a pc and network the file over and then link your xbox to a pc and transfer it that way.if you get the file send me a PM.let me know how you go.

bottle of bacardi(depending on how drunk i am sometimes the bottles empty)

I have the original M$Dash. I have a softmodded Xbox using EvoX in which I recently installed a new hard drive. So I have the file copied to my comp still...

hey guidebot2 you might want to send it back to microsoft if it hasnt been opened then it should be under warrenty still.

It's not a likely problem but, since an 'Error 21' is a General Error that has no real meaning. Could you rule out overheat exhaustion as a cause. I mean did you ever turn your XBOX? off and reboot it? As such a malfunction could cause this Error to occure.

I to am getting the same problem, but mine is giving me error 08 and 21. It all started when i was playing Burnout Revenge, hit eject and error 21 comes up. 2 months go by. then play farcry instincts and it starts backup again.
this time, even if you turn it on it get the same errors 08 and 21.
but you let it sit for a while, it boots then dies. (error).

Hey Nanj29, you say your xbox die when you press eject, but did you turn off the xbox first before eject?

after i ejected it, it said error 21 then i shut it off, turned it on and got error 08. so i dont know what to do.
