I am currently downloading 5 different "downloads" from Nero.com. I am downloading all 4 packages...plus the neroMIX. Is this all necessary for burning DVDs? Also, is this going to take up a lot of space on my harddrive? I will stop downloading until I have a response. So far, I've down 3/5. Thanks

Julia

You only need the first 2 packages to burn CDs DVDs, DON'T install InCD it usually causes grief of some kind. You should be good to go after you install the 2 packages.

The two posters ahead of me are right. Theonly 2 packages you should get are the first two. In my opinion you dont even need Nero Showtime (in pakage 2) as Windows media player and Media Player Classic do the same thing, and most people already have them on their PCs.

So, do I need a separate DVD burner as well? I'm assuming that I do. Would it be better to buy one to use on the PC or with a cable and tv? I would like to copy off of other DVDs as well as VHS tapes.
Another question maybe you could answer is, how do I download XBOX games onto my XBOX? I noticed that COMPusa is offering a one year trial for the XBOX subscription online. It's about $40...is this XBOX live subscription for copying games? I'm assuming not. Is it easy to copy games from the internet, ...legal? and where do you go? THank you
In your opinion, are iPODs worth buying???

It would be best to get a DVD burrner for the computer. If you want to make backups of copy protected DVDs. You wouldnt bebale to do that with a standalone DVD player/burrner.

If you want to do VHS tapes you would have to get a capture card for the computer and hook the VCR up to that then capture the VHS tapes then burn onto a DVD using the burrner in your computer.

The Xbox live subscription CompUSA is offering is a subscription to play Xbox games online. Which some games offer live play agaisnt other players.

Now If you want to play burnt Xbox games on your Xbox or rip the games to your Xbox hard drive then you would have to get a Mod chip or softmod your Xbox.

As of downloading games off the internet it really isnt legal to download the games like most do off the internet.

So, where would I purchase a capture card for vhs tapes? Also, do you need the DVD burner to put VHS onto DVDs? Where would I purchase a MOD chip? Is this mod chip what you use to do the illegal downloading, or is the mod chip for doing something legal? Thank you

I downloaded those Nero deals, but now I can't find them. I thought I put them in my "documents" but their nowhere to be found. Do I have to be off line to retrieve or find them? Any suggestions where they may have ended up...do they go someone normally?

@Julia27

You could either do a search for them or go back to the website and start a download again and see where the files are being sent. Once you figure out where then cancel the download and go to the folder they are at.

You would get a capture card at Wal-mart, Best buy a computer store etc.

A mod chip is a chip you install on the board of the Xbox to allow you to play backup games. Which means for it to be legal you would need to own the orignal game of the backup disc. you can get a MODchip online.

I would sugest you do some searches on each subject. Your asking like 3 diffrent things at once. It would be best you do searching on capture cards and how to mod an Xbox. There is way to much informatuion to be given to you in 1 post.

So if your intrested in Backing up DVD and VHS tapes and capture cards and modding your Xbox search and learn.
