say i have a dvd ...say an anime dvd .....and i want to backup all 4 eps to mhy hdd so i can put my disks away and never get them scratched...well how would i get those eps from the dvd to say a .avi file 4 seperate .avi files one per ep.? or preferably straight to a .rmvb cus its way smaller....

I am currently using DVDDecrypter to rip DVDs to my hard disk. A typical movie is 5GB in .VOB format.

I then use AGKnot to convert these .VOB files to AVI format, which takes about 3hrs on my 2.4GHz Celeron D with 512MB DDR(400), and the AVI files are smaller than 2.5GB in size.

I too am doing the same thing as well as backing up my entire collection of dvds. Autogk is in the software section and does take around 3 hours or so. The individual files will be around 700mb or so as long as you tick the option 1cd(700mb). So with 4 episodes or so your folder will be about 2.5 thru 2. gigs.

thanks guys ...i tried both ways and it worked pretty well ...but i found an even eaiser way rip the .vobs to your hdd just the 3-5 eps of the disk wich is 3-5 .vobs then use easy real media to convert them to .rmvb ...takes maybe 45 min from start to finish and theres liek 6 clicks involved ...thanks though
