nhl 06 ps2 copy protection?

I can't seem to run nhl 06 on my moded ps2. The original or backup. The game loads but you can't press the start button. Anyone else experience this problem?

Dude, next time, please use the forum's search functions before posting, i've seen this question at least 6 times in the last 2 weeks...
As for an answer, i've seen a lot of people that seem to be unable to play both the original and/or backup of this game on their modded ps2's... I can't tell you what's causing it, but you're not the only one that this is happening to.

Dude,

[1] I did the research and there were zero posts in reference to this problem with nhl 06 for ps2. If you think otherwise please paste the links in a reply and I will be the first to apologize.

[2] This issue has been resolved. The issue is you need a ps2 controller to play the game. There is no copy protection scheme for this game. Upon switching to the ps2 controller that came with the ps2 the problem was resolved. ON both the original game and the backed up game.

I have the same problem. And I used a ps1 controller.
