It's crazy, but i've burn about 6 dvd's without having to answer this question. But, when you what to remove (directors comments,extra features,etc...)how do you know which files are the right ones to remove, without affecting the important file like main movie or 5.1?

The main movie will be under 'main movie'. The special features are under 'extras'. There is a preview screen at bottom left hand side. If you click on the + sign next to the heading it will show the files. Click on one and click play in the preview to see what it is.
The files do not get removed but you can make them a still pic. Just click on the title then under compression settings change to a still pic. I ran AnyDVD in the background w/ the option of 'remove annoying adverts and trailers and jump directly to Title menu set. This way I can make the previews still pics and they're thrown to the end of the movie - never see them.

You're just basically re-authoring like I do on most of my dvd backups.

Open disc/let it open to all the files

Untick all audio streams except AC3 5.1 CH English. Untick the rest. Also untick the rest of the boxes.

Reathor/drag main movie over to the left or if multiple main movies,view them to find the one you want.Sometimes they'll be wide screen or full screen/deleted sceens/ or alternate endings.

Click on compression tab,it then opens up to some other stuff you can untick.

Click on the icon with 2 arrows.1 pointing right on top of 1 pointing left. This will activate 2 windows for start frame and stop frame. Just use the arrow or slide bar to select those frames. You can get rid of quite a bit of ending credits this way.

Click backup/double check those settings and click OK and process starts.
