i have a question. i have a magic 3 installed on my USA version 4 PS2. but i dont think it works anymore because it can only play normal games and dvd's. it wont play backups. sometimes it would get to the black n white playstation 2 screen, then try to load but then get back to the screen that shows the memory card and at the bottom it says Reading Disc...I dont know what to do. i already tried cleaning the laser. i think the modchip died. i wanted to know if i could use swap magic with fliptop while i have the magic 3 chip installed. also will it let me go online with the backups? and does it play ps2 dvd +/- backups? please answer all of the questions because i am really interested in buying.

if the modchip isnt working i suggest removing it unless it is soldered to the board but if it is not funtional you cut the wire that supplys it with power. Or if the chip has a sleep function or stealth use that. Swap magic will work fine but youll need the modchip off to pay online and they can play both =/- but it is better to use DVD-R because it is more widely supprorted

i can play online with the magic 3.1 when it was working. but now that it is dead, will it affect me from playing online backups or even real ps2 games online? also, i bought from consolepoint.com, ever heard of em? will my backups for the magic chip work with the swap magic? and also, what is this memory card exploit i hear about? do i need it? thanks
