Copying scuffed or scratched DVD"s

Hi,
I have a DVD that has slight scuffs and very fine scratches on it.
When played on my dvd player ,it has some small skips in it.
What is some of the best copy programs out,that can see through this.
I realize if it's too bad ,nothing will,but i've read that some programs do a good job on this problem.

On slight scuffs and very fine scratches I did this and it does work..I used a very,very,very clean soft buffing wheel at slow speed on dvd's,using water as a medium?

I use Novus #2 fine scratch remover. I buff the DVD with this compound, and then polish it with novus polish spray. It works on all fine scratches and generally will take care of making the DVDs readable again. Below are search links to ebay for those selling the products CHEAP. Also a link to another product I am told works well also.

Mothers car wax, the non gritty kind works well.
The dvd's I get from Netflix tend to have pretty hard scratches on them and after I leave car wax on it for about 10 minutes or so.
It has always done the trick.

NEVR-DULL also works wonders for minor scratches. For more hairy damage I LIGHTLY polish with mag-chrome-aluminum wheel polish then NEVR-DULL. Have rescued some nasty discs from netflix this way!

well sorry guys, i have to say, that brasoo NOR car wax work, they leave a filmy residue on there, and even after washed off, it fogs up.. took me almost half hour getting that crap off... I broke down and went to the source by curcuit city here in canada, and bought a cd doctor, (just a cloth and ome liquid) follow what it says on the sheet exactly and you will remove ur scratches. It works wonders
Edit: I would only use something made for cd's and dvd to remove scratches, because its guarenteed to work and not damage your disc. If i am wrong in any way please correct me, as i still like to learn new things :p

I'm all for learning new things MC.
Really? I have not had any trouble with 3M car wax or mothers. But I usually use Glass Cleaner on Netflix rentels to get Hairs and fingerprints off and that kind of stuff.

Awsome, those work great for cleaning scoffs or fingerprints, but for fixing scratches, you can go to a curcuit city or radio shack or local electronics and purchase a CD DOCTOR, small kit with 2 cloths and some special liquid, and it works magic for fixing scratches

The scratch removers that work have a wheel which some fine sand paper on the rim. You get a spray bottle with water. As you crank, the DVD slowly turns. It is probably not great for the life of the DVD and puts a distinctive polish design on the DVD. However, you get yours. If you own the disk I would burn 2 copies and never play the original again. I never play originals anyway. My kids tend to ruin disks so the working library is 100% copies.
All other processes are REAL iffy. You waist a good deal of time and more often than not you "rub through" trashing the disk. If any of these resurface process removes all the plastic covering the foil that is the end of the line! For $30 it is money well spent. They sell them at Best Buy and K Mart.
Just a heads up. Some surface flaws go all the way down to the foil. These are a waist of time to try to resurface.
