I have two dvd burners in my system. the results are exactly the same with either burner.
program installed and works fine until the burn button is pressed.
files are sorted then nothing happens. My computer locks up, only way to shut down is turn power off. had Nero 5.5 installed before 6.6 and was getting the same results with it.
before this problem occured I was burning DVD's with no problem using DVD Shrink and Nero 5.5 now this. I have updated all drivers
and software. Everything else in my system seems to be working fine.

Sounds like an "Application Hang" to me. I've encountered it with Nero on a Couple occasions. Are you trying to Back-Up a particular movie? Are you using Windows XP? If so, look in Help and Support,and find system errors. I KNOW some movies oout there have CSS protection that seems targeted specifically at Nero. I may have a solution for you, first answer the questions.

If you could post a log that Nero creates (no matter if it was successful or not), we could could find out what went wrong and hopefully come up with some solutions...
