usb flash drive & ps2?

I need about a GB of space to use as memory on my ps2, so i was just wandering if i would be able to use a usb flash drive with my ps2 and if so will i be able to use it instead of a memory card? or can i some how make the ps2 think its a memory card?

the simple answer is no but what you can do is for example buy AR MAX which will allow you to transfer saves onto your usb flash drive so youll have to save on the card first though.

just go out and buy a Max Memory card
They have many sizes, i have a 32MB one.
I have not run out of space yet and have quite a few.
games saved on it.

well the thing is its not for saving games. I'm using a emulator called PGEN. its a Sega genesis emulator for the ps2. the only ways to load a ROM that i can tell are from a CD, the hard drive, and a memory card. I use execftps to put the roms on the memory card witch is why i need so much space. if possible i would like to put the roms on the hdd since PGEN can also read them off the hdd, the only problem is i don't know how to put them on the hdd.

so i either need help with getting the roms on the hdd preferably with out using up any CD's or i need help with finding a ps2 memory card that will hold a GB of space.
