Well, I have a PS2 and thinking about buying an xbox and gamecube. I know it's esy to do on an XBOX, but I'm not sure about gamecube. It seems that only handful of people know how to rip isos of gamecube games and then burn them and play them on their system. What programs are necessary for this? Which brand mini-discs seem to work best? Do you still need to mess around with connecting your cube to your computer and streaming information? That seems like too much work for me. Are there any other ways of booting backup games from discs besides that modchip that you all are talking about? Examples: PS2 has the swap magic discs, and xbox has the soft mod thing with the memory card exploit.

It's not a lot of work.
I just use normal DVD-Rs.
All you need to do is network your computer and your gamecube. I use a program called ngcdev, rips at about 1.5mbps. I have a Qoob Pro.
Just fire up the gamecube, load the program from the bios, rip the img and burn with Nero.
Then stick in the DVD-R and play.

I thought normal dvd discs were too big? well if that's the case then I may go get one soon.

Normal DVD-R discs are too big for the original Gamecube case. There are modded cases you can buy out there that allow a full size DVD-R to be inserted. I used one myself. I bought it from modchipsource.com.

They have other colors as well. And of course there are alot of other sites you can get them off of as well. Just do a google search for them.

ahhh nice. is there currently any way to boot backups without that modchip that you all have? something like magicswap for ps2 maybe? thanks.

Yes, you will need to buy a broadband adapter and a max drive pro memory card from www.codejunkies.com (it's like the action replay for xbox) So you can softmod your gamecube (it will be a swap method, if you have further questions on this, talk to me on msn messenger at silent_striker100@hotmail.com I use this method and I love it!)

Hmm. I don't have broadband though. Does that matter? The little area can't get any broadband except satellite, and that's too expensive, so I'm stuck with dial up. :/

lol, no not internet, I am talking about the gamecube broadband adapter so you can connect your gamecube to your PC so you can rip gamecube games from your gamecube drive and transfer through a network cord, LMAO, not internet

I knew what it meant... I just assumed that a broadband adapter would be for broadband internet. The ps2 has a network adaptor for dial up and a different one for broadband. That's why I asked..
