Hey !

I have made a few DVD-Video disks and as i was watching them i noticed it ocasioanly " skips " but its not like any other skip , becouse the voices still go the picture kinda hits " slow mo " and then after about 1 minute or so it picks right back up 100 % perfect again .

But to the point , My question to all of u is . Would anyone know of a way to eliminate this problem with my video's in the mere future ?

Here is the steps i used to create the disks.

1 = Took Avi File And Converted It to a DVD file Using WinAVI Video Converter .

2= Took my DVD files and burned them using Nero , and ocasionaly CloneDVD2 .

N e one know how to fix this little problem ?

Much Thanks To All Replys !

What type of media are you using? What speed are you burning at? Is the firmware for your particular burner up to date?

MS Windows XP MCE SP2, Intel P4 3.20 GHz, 2.0 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce FX5600, Seagate 7200 rpm 200GB HDD, Sony SDMHS93 19" LCD, Field Value
Audio Adapter Creative SB0317 Audigy LS Sound Card, Liteon models,SHM-165H6S, 167to6c, All burns exclusively on genuine Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim media!

I only use Taiyo Yuden. Buying the other brands is a crap shoot with bad odds, although if the sony's were made in japan they are good. I have alot of problems with my early backups on memorex, skipping, pixelation, etc. Try a quality disk like ty or verbatim and see if that makes a difference.

I couldn't swear on it but I think the Sony that are made in japan are Taiyo Yuden. I order Ty's online from Rima.com and/or supermediastore.com. You can find a wealth of information on the quality of media on the DVD-R media forum here on AD. I just ordered 100 4X Ty's and 300 cases from supermediastore. The Ty's were on sale for (I think 37.99$). You may pay a little more getting them online after shipping but having no coasters and a backup that will work a year from now is well worth it!

I think you would have the best luck sticking with the sony and burning at 4X max. You might also try disabling any non-essential programs while encoding/burning.
