Hi kiv,

Thats better than nothing. I'm not desperate yet. Still got a little over 50 verbs. Got my last 50 pk of verb hub printables on sale for about 45 cents a disc. I've also still got about 40 ty printables that supermediastore screwed up my order on and sent me printables instead of hub printables. I prefer the hub printables. If I can't find a sale soon I will probably go with some ty hub printables. Their about 5 to 10 cents cheaper than the verbs per disc reg price and seem to perform as well as my verbs. They don't scan out quite as good as the verbs but have never caused any playback issues. Have a good day my friend.

yeah...sales are pretty shallow in terms of the printables~ :) they are always going to be at a premium for the single fact that you can PRINT onto them~ :)

i used to buy printables, but now, i just bought a new 8 pack of Sharpies (all diff. colors) so, i just go crazy with those now onto my shiny silver TYs~ :)

have a good one my friend...

what's the difference between hub printables and printables? I'm new to this and I just got the Epson R320 that prints DVD/CDs. I place my order with Supermedia.com for Taiyo Yuden white inkjet hub printable DVD+R 8x 100 count. Since Taiyo Yuden disks work great for me I wanted my first printable disks to be TYs! Hope I did ok.

IHoe:

When you get your discs, your Epson software settings will have to be "tweaked" for your artwork to be perfectly centered on the discs after they are printed. These are the settings that I use for my TY hub printables: 119mm outer, 22mm inner, 25.4 height/top, & 25.2 width/right. You will have a very thin line of ink beyond the printable surface surface on the inner and outer circumferences. The TY's are actually approximately 118.5mm outer and they are about 22.5mm inner, but you can only choose whole numbers. However, when I tried going down to 118 outer or 23 inner, I then had a very thin line of white showing. Some people report success with the 23mm inner setting, though...

Just letting you know what works for me so that you won't have to "sacrifice" as many discs to "not-quite-perfect" printouts. I know I want all mine to be perfect!!!

These settings (inner and outer) will vary from brand to brand. The only other printables that I've used to date are the Maxell (for a friends back-ups). I use 21mm center for those (all other settings remain the same).

I get my inks from privateabacus24-7 for $21 for all six cartridges. However, my original cartridges look as if they will print over 125 discs easily. I am doing discs only, not inserts. When you get your printer, if it has the tray with the clear plastic on the end, ask Epson for the new version of the CD/DVD tray. They sent me one free of charge. I still have it wrapped and stored as a backup should my original tray fail. Also, keep the printer at least the length of the tray from the wall in the back. The tray extends beyond the back of the printer while printing...

Thank you for your advise Tef!! My disks are coming on the 21st and I'm already putting in your settings into the Print CD/DVD program....... ready and waiting! Thank you again! I appreciate it!

I just set the hight/width to the 25.4 and 25.2 settings and it looks a little off center! Is this right? I guess I'll have to see when it prints. Thanks again for your advise...... the settings are set and ready! or do you have to reset them every time your print????

My height/width settings work ok set at default 25.0. I imagine everyone's is different.

teflonmyk,

My tray had that clear plastic on the leading edge and I finally had to cut it off and now have to assist the tray on every print initially. Does the new tray still have the clear plastic leading edge or did they make an improvement?

I just noticed that my tray has that clear plastic lead in........I initially tried it out without using any settings and the CD that they gave me came out great! I am going to try out the settings that Teflon gave me and find out myself what's best for me!

The new version doesn't have the clear plastic. It has 2 tabs which are molded in one piece with the tray...
